Well it has been a little over two weeks since I purchased my first Rat.
I went all the way by bus to a pet shop that had rats in stock as there were no breeders here.
It was stressful to say the least!
Anyway there with her brothers and sisters (shudder) was Mindi rat.
She was just waiting for me.
She was very very shy but warmed up to me nicely.
I'd done some research and so I was horrified that my poor little Mindi was wheezing on the first night!
Thank goodness for the Rats Rule chat room!
Of course Mindi was taken a vet but it was a week later due to finances! However her concerned mum constantly held and watched her until then.
Mindi stole the show because she is so pretty!
The vet that saw her was a rat lover thank goodness and so she took great care in looking at her.
Dear little Mindi was so busy sniffing that the vet couldn't hear her chest properly.
A course of antibiotics later and Mindi is all better.
On the same day we saw the vet I also got Mindi a new cage, new exercise ball and new water bottle! She loved it of course.
Mindi also went to visit a friend of mine who has two daughters. They loved her so much they got two rats of their own!
The mother, Bev, called herself Mindi's grandmother! lol!
My sister dubbed Mindi "Beautiful" and still others are less than impressed. I'll just have to convince them otherwise! It shouldn't be hard.
It's now past week two and I have reason to beleive Mindi may be a mummy rat before long. I can't believe how much she's grown!
Well that's the story so far in very brief. I have made lots of new rat loving friends over the internet but will go into that another time!
